Re: ZigBee

ZigBee is a wireless standard that many IoT devices use to create a network. Devices such as Philips Hue and Belkin WeMo use this, but have entirely separate APIs for sending commands. This app uses the APIs provided by Philips Hue, Belkin Wemo, TP-Link, and iHome. Each of these brands, and some of ...

How to: Connect TP-Link

Adding TP-Link devices is easy: Prerequisite: use the Kasa app on your phone to ensure that Remote Control is enabled for your devices: https://static.tp-link.com/image003_1504838740971l.png 1. Open Preferences and Get a TP-Link token using the same login used for the Kasa app on your phone: https:/...

Re: TP-Link Kasa Switch support

A new build (1.22) has been uploaded to the app store. It is currently waiting for review and might take a couple days due the labor day holiday. The new version fully supports the HS220 and includes dimming options for this switch. The switch also works with Scene Control. I was actually going to r...

Re: User Interface Request

A new build has been uploaded (1.22) with a new icon for the menubar that is probably more appropriate. This is still waiting for review and it is a holiday weekend, so it might take a couple of days to clear review.

Re: TP-Link Kasa Switch support

On second thought, I am nervous about implementing the HS220 without testing, because it requires changes to the whole TP-Link class that could cause unintended consequences. So I ordered an HS220 via Amazon yesterday for testing. It was supposed to arrive in the mail today, but that didn't happen. ...

Re: TP-Link Kasa Switch support

Yes. I was thinking that I might have to buy one of these dimmers to test it out, but I found something online where a user posted JSON output. I will put out another update later this week that should work.

Re: App has stopped working

What kind of devices are you using? If TP-Link, try getting a new access token from the preferences window.

Re: User Interface Request

Thanks. An autolaunch can also be done by going to system prefs/users and groups/login items. But I might be able to set up an in-app preferences option for this. As for the menubar icon, those icons need to look good at 16x16 px. It is hard to get any kind of design to look good at this size unless...

Re: TP-Link Kasa Switch support

For some reason, there are different controls for the TP-Link products I have included so far. Sometimes, even a European version takes slightly different parameters than the US version. But if these switches are similar to the Smart Plugs or the Light Bulbs, I might be able to get them to work. I w...

Re: Version 1.21.1 bugs

Great! Thank you for letting me know about this. I thought this one might be tricky because I couldn't replicate it, but it was an easy fix. I am glad that you found it and said something because other users on El Capitan were probably experiencing the same thing and never reported the issue. - Dave

Re: Version 1.21.1 bugs

OK. I have an idea that makes sense, at least I think it sounds reasonable. It should fix the Group Control buttons and the Scene List view for users running OSX 10.11. I have uploaded a new build (1.21.2). It is waiting on App Review, but will probably be available for download either later tonight...

Re: Version 1.21.1 bugs

hmmm... for some reason 10.11 is not responding to a mouse-up. I will just make everything function on mouse-down for 10.11 then. It should work. I'm working on it now.

Re: Version 1.21.1 bugs

Both the Group Control and the blacked-out part of the Scene Control use visual effect views that kind of blend with the desktop background. I am surprised that OSX 10.11 does not support this implementation, but it is possible that your computers are too old to work with this setup. I think I have ...

Damn. Can you toggle the groups by double-clicking from the group list? (command+G)
